VIDEO: Durban North exhibition showcases local talent

The exhibition at at the Art at @tap gallery runs until December 4.

DURBAN North resident and artist Carol Hayward Fell has encouraged the community to support an exhibition running at the Art at @tap gallery.

The gallery, situated inside the Durban North Community Church, is free and open to the community to view.

Situated on Mackeurtan Avenue, the space was curated by members of the congregation and was the brainchild of Nigel Horsfall and his wife Dee.

The space has already hosted several exhibitions and is a way for amateur artists to showcase their work.

Now it is hosting the ‘A Celebration of Colour’ exhibition put together by Carolart Studio.

Hayward Fell explained she was invited by one of the curators of the space, Nigel Horsfall.

“Nigel is an ex-student of mine and he was so kind in offering us the space. This is the fourth exhibition in this space and as a collective we came up with the title ‘A Celebration of Colour’. What has been so encouraging is that some of the artists have already sold a few artworks,” explained Hayward Fell. “This is a wonderful opportunity for my students to showcase their talents and art, and of course to sell them. My hope is that the community falls in love with the artworks and purchases them,” she said.

A helpful guide is a little booklet in the gallery with a profile on each of the artists whose works are on display.

The exhibition runs until December 4.
