“A multi-disciplinary operation which focused on crime prevention led to the arrests; an altercation outside a local venue in McCausland Crescent led to two individuals sustaining serious injuries after being stabbed. KZNVIP Medics, together with SAPS and other emergency services, responded swiftly to the scene.
“While paramedics were attending to the injured victims, an intoxicated driver crashed into the parked ambulance, causing further injuries to the already injured victims and two medics. One paramedic was critically injured and was partially ejected from the ambulance. Patients were stabilised on scene,” he said.
Naidoo added the driver of the vehicle was detained by SAPS.
