Entries open for Amashova Cycle Race

Entries are now open for the 40th Amashova National Classic, set for July 19, 2026, from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

ENTRIES for next year’s Amashova National Classic have opened.

The iconic race between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, along the Comrades Marathon route, will commemorate its 40th year in 2026.

Next year’s cycle race will take place on Sunday, July 19.

The Amashova initially had a special 40-hour entry fee for the first 40 entrants who would get R40 off their entry which ended on Tuesday, November 11.

Participants can choose from the traditional 106km race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban or the 132km, 106km and 38km races.

Like the 2025 edition of the race, organisers have kept the month of July as their race window.

“If you miss out on being the first 40 to enter, don’t worry, we’re kicking things off with an early bird special available until 31 January 2026. This includes a pensioner’s discount, so don’t miss the chance to register early and save. Help us grow this iconic race. Whether you’re chasing a new PB or soaking up the camaraderie, the Amashova is better when shared,” the Amashova organisers said in a statement.

To enter, visit the Amashova website.
