Priyasha takes the crown in SPAR Superstars competition

Priyasha Naidoo, a Northlands Primary School learner won a R7 000 voucher from SPAR as well as a goodie bag.

NORTHLANDS Primary School learner Priyasha Naidoo has been named the overall SPAR Superstar competition winner in primary schools.

She has won a R7 000 voucher from SPAR as well as a goodie bag.

In May this year she was nominated by her school for her incredible achievements in sports, academics, maths, coding and robotics.

Priyasha, who is in Grade Seven, has maintained her standing as first in class and Grade throughout her senior primary years and was recently placed top in the country after triumphing at a Beyond Maths competition.

Out of 32 participating schools with over 4 000 candidates she placed first in level 2 (Grade Six and Seven).

Alongside her exceptional academic record, she is also an all-round contributor winning a number of awards for coding and robotics as well as participating in the LEGO League competitions.

Outside of academics, Priyasha is a member of the drama team and captains the Northlands tennis team, having represented eThekwini at the KZN Junior Inter-District Tournament in 2024 and this year.

While she was shocked and pleasantly surprised with the win, her message to other youngsters was simple.

“If I had to give advice to other learners it would be to always believe in themselves and never give up,” she said.

Nozipho Mkhize, advertising and sponsorship manager for SPAR KZN, congratulated Priyasha on her achievements,

“We are excited that we were able to reward Priyasha for her amazing achievements across all facets. Education is one of our pillars at SPAR and we want children to continue to thrive and grow like she has. We want to keep supporting and nurturing their talents to a point where they grow from strength to strength,” Mkhize said.

She also thanked all the schools who nominated SPAR stars and for those who voted in the competition across the province.
