Suspect arrested following Adelaide Tambo hit-and-run
A suspect has been arrested following a fatal hit-and-run incident at the Mackeurtan Avenue and Adelaide Tambo intersection yesterday.
A 27-year-old man is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of culpable homicide and failure to stop at an accident scene, following his arrest in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred at the Adelaide Tambo and Mackeurtan Avenue intersection in Durban North yesterday afternoon (March 4).

A female pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by the vehicle.
According to Durban North SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Nonhlanhla Shozi, the suspect was arrested yesterday and remains in police custody.
“The investigating officer arrested the suspect yesterday (Tuesday). He is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. He has been charged with culpable homicide and failure to stop at an accident scene,” said Shozi.
Yesterday afternoon, a call for witnesses to the incident was circulated on social media by Kyle van Reenen of Ensure Security.
The post stated that the incident occurred just before 16:00 and that a white Nissan Almera, reportedly occupied by two Indian men, struck an adult female near the Adelaide Tambo and Mackeurtan Avenue intersection in Durban North.
