Durban SPCA calls on schools to lend a helping hand
Through the Adopt a Month Food campaign schools have the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference.
THE Durban & Coast SPCA has encouraged schools to get behind their Adopt a Month Pet Food Campaign.
Through the campaign, schools have the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference.
By collecting pet food for just one month, learners become part of a lifesaving mission while learning valuable lessons in empathy, compassion and responsibility, explained marketing manager for the association, Tanya Fleischer.
“Your school’s involvement means warm meals, wagging tails, gentle purrs and renewed hope for animals who have known fear and neglect. In our 130th year, you can help us continue this legacy of care and kindness,” she said.
“For more than a century, the SPCA has been a place of refuge for frightened, hungry and injured animals, many arriving with nothing but hope for a second chance. For these animals, a simple bowl of food means far more than a meal. It brings comfort, safety and the strength to heal. Yet pet food remains one of the SPCA’s most urgent and ongoing needs.”
How it works
• Choose a month to collect pet food donations for the SPCA
• We support you with campaign materials and guidance
