WHILE the Department of Agriculture has intensified its efforts to fight the spread of Foot-and-Mouth disease (FMD) through a nationwide vaccination campaign, they have also continued efforts to stop another highly contagious disease, rabies.
Last month the KZN Department of Agriculture and Rural Development embarked on its annual free rabies vaccination programmes for dogs and cats and has now announced a new set of dates.
This comes as statistics have shown that most human rabies cases in SA are reported in KZN, the Eastern Cape, and Limpopo.
