Northlands Primary School
Living by its core values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility and Loyalty, Northlands Primary School can look back with pride on seven decades of growth and achievement.
From humble beginnings in October 1949 when we were known as the Kensington Drive Junior Government School with 96 pupils and a staff of 3 to our beautiful, treed campus with world class facilities and over 1000 pupils we have certainly grown steadily over the years – much like the mighty Oak tree that makes up our school badge.

In 2019 we undertook the mammoth task of renovating our existing pre-primary into the vision of a modern, bright and embracing facility that we had held for some years. “Fairways” became Northlands Pre-primary and a new era in Early Childhood Development education was born in Durban. Our beautiful adventure playground facility has fast become the most popular children’s party venue in Durban North!
We continue to thrive despite the challenges of the Global Pandemic, growing at an exponential rate.
Northlands Primary is poised to move into the future, stronger than ever, whilst acknowledging our heritage as one of Durban North’s leading schools.
Living up to our motto – Embracing our past – Inspiration for the future.
