Editor: ON THURSDAY, 27 Febraury, at approximately 4.30pm, my daughter was at the intersection of Addison and Umhlanga Rocks Drives, waiting to cross over to head north, towards Gateway.
A bakkie was approaching from the right , indicating to turn into Addison Drive. The left side was clear, and as the approaching bakkie slowed down to turn into Addison, my daughter proceeded to turn right onto Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
The vehicle behind the bakkie then proceeded to over-take the bakkie which hadn’t yet turned into Addison Drive and collided with the red Fiat Palio that my daughter was driving, hitting the vehicle “t-boned”. My daughter could not even open the driver door as it had been smashed it.
The driver of the Lexus that hit my daughter stopped about 20m further down the road. The driver of the Lexus gave false information at the scene and left the accident scene without waiting for the police saying she was in a hurry. Now she is trying to sue my daughter for damages to her vehicle – which no-one has seen, yet my car that my daughter was driving has been”written off”, not to mention the whiplash, medical bills my daughter incurred as well.
Please can anyone who saw, witnessed the accident contact Dee on 082 746 5836 or Steph on 082 218 7560.
