New dates for military tattoo
THE South African National Defence Force announces that it will host the KZN Military Tattoo, in conjunction with East Coast Radio, from 18 to 21 September , at the Natal Mounted Rifles, in Durban.

Due to unforeseen circumstances this event had to be moved from the originally planned date in July to the new date in September.
The original meaning of military tattoo was a military drum performance, but subsequently it came to mean army (military) displays more generally.
Based on the ongoing success of military tattoos worldwide and the popularity of the Durban Military Tattoo during the eighties, it was decided to revive the local tattoo in 2008. It is now known as the KwaZulu-Natal Military Tattoo and has been held annually since.
Various South African Military bands will be performing one show a night from the 18 to 21 of September.
In keeping with the tradition of military tattoos worldwide, various pipe bands will provide the ageless call of the pipes. To add to the excitement, various re-enactments will take place demonstrating the abilities of the South African National Defence Force, Drum Majorettes with flags flying and a unique surprise act, celebrating the proud legacy of a South African ledged, finishing off with a fireworks display nightly.
Please take necessary precautions for your pets on these nights; if within ear shot of the noise.
Tickets are available from Computicket, shows start punctually at 7pm each night. The gates will open at 4.30pm, to allow guests to enjoy a lovely family meal, in the unique food court set up for your convenience. Gates will open at 2pm on Saturday, to allow guests to enjoy the rugby on the big screen before enjoying the KZN Military Tattoo.
