De La Salle Holy Cross College’s Class of 2025 display integrity, excellence, and balance with matric results

With their 40th year of a 100% pass rate, De La Salle Holy Cross College head of high school expresses her pride in the class, and her hope that they’ll carry what they learnt there into their futures.

De La Salle Holy Cross College has celebrated an outstanding set of matric results for 2025, with all 78 candidates passing, a record the school has maintained for 40 years.

Principal of the high school Linda Galanakis expressed her pride in the Class of 2025. “I am absolutely delighted with our marks this year. Our 100% pass rate remains unchanged, and it speaks to the inclusive and nurturing academic environment we offer at De La Salle Holy Cross College.”

Learners achieved an impressive average of 2.9 distinctions per pupil. Galanakis highlighted the school’s philosophy, saying: “We believe strongly in academic inclusion. Our pupils are nurtured, supported, and encouraged to excel in their own areas of strength.”

She also praised the character of the group. “This class has shown a deep sense of integrity, strong values, and an understanding of what is truly important in life. That balance between academics, sport, and social life is something they have managed exceptionally well.”

Several pupils were placed in the IEB top 1%, including Helena van der Merwe, Keila Becker, and top achiever Keira Leask, who was named on the IEB outstanding list.

Reflecting on the future, Galanakis hopes this class continues to live with integrity, honesty, and truth as they enter an unpredictable world.
