Home invasion in Linden foiled by gate alarm
SCP Security catches wanted criminal for offences in several areas as silent signal alerts reaction officer.
Four perpetrators were interrupted during a home invasion on Beyers Naude Drive in Linden.
The criminals were intercepted by an SCP Security reaction officer who was responding to a gate alarm signal sent to their control room.
Owner of SCP Security, Clive Maher said, “On arrival, our reaction officer caught the suspects loading their car with household goods including electronics, jewellery, and clothing. He blocked them from exiting easily and managed to corner them from escaping with the car. A firearm was produced by one of the suspects and a short shootout ensued. The suspect’s car was abandoned and one of the four suspects was detained.”

A Gate Buddy alerts a security company if a gate is being tampered with and sends a silent signal often before criminals enter the property. In this case a reaction officer was on site within 2-minutes.
He notes that although three men escaped on foot by fleeing into neighbouring properties, an arrest was made and stolen good recovered. The individual arrested was wanted for criminal activity in several areas says Maher, “We are very proud to have arrested a wanted criminal involved in a criminal syndicate in our area. We encourage residents to increase their observations and security practices as we head into the festive season.”
