60 years of celebrating in 2026 at Crossroads School
The school looks forward to 2026 filled with great celebrations and ordinary things done extraordinarily well.
In 2025, Crossroads School celebrated a historic milestone – the graduation of its first group of Grade 9 learners as part of its newly established Middle School. In 2026, they will prepare to celebrate their 60th anniversary.
Principal of the school, Yolandi Roux, said as they step into 2026, their hopes are simple but ambitious: to keep doing the ordinary things extraordinarily well. They look forward to seeing further progress on the Middle School and to welcoming more learners into spaces designed with their unique learning needs in mind.

“We want to strengthen our partnerships with families, therapists and neighbouring schools so that every learner in our care is surrounded by a team that believes in them and understands their journey.”
Within their community, they aim to deepen a culture where every child is known by name and story; where values are not just printed on the walls, but lived out in our daily interactions; and where learners with barriers to learning find both high expectations and high levels of support.
“For our learners, our goal remains clear: to help them build the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to take their next steps into the world – whether that is returning to mainstream schooling or pursuing other meaningful pathways.”

For their youngest learners, including the Grade 1s of 2026, the school’s wish is that their first year of big school is filled with curiosity, joy and a deep sense of belonging.
In the hope they experience classrooms where it is safe to make mistakes, where their questions are welcomed, and where their differences are seen as strengths – and that they go home each day knowing that school is a place where they are seen, understood and celebrated.
“May 2026 – our 60th year – be a year in which we continue to build together brick by brick, lesson by lesson, conversation by conversation – a community where every child can find their place and their purpose, and where we all keep becoming the next version of ourselves.”
