Prosecutors decide if road rage accused will appear in court today

The publication remains on scene to find out whether the case will be placed on the court roll or not.

Following the road rage incident that left one dead and two others injured in Emmarentia on April 19, attention has now shifted to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, as authorities prepare for the next steps in the case.

The 58-year-old suspect in the shooting was arrested on April 20, and expected to appear in court on April 21, but the matter now depends on court scheduling.

The publication is currently stationed outside the court awaiting confirmation from the National Prosecuting Authority. The chief prosecutor is reportedly in a meeting to decide whether the matter will be placed on today’s court roll.

At this stage, no confirmation has been given on whether the accused will appear in court today.
