Orange wave hits Auckland Park as Steps 2 UJ Future Forward Fun Run backs student futures

Runners and walkers took to the streets, turning the university's annual Steps 2 UJ Future Forward Fun Run into a show of community spirit, healthy living, and support for students in need of financial assistance.

Thousands of feet hit the roads around Auckland Park on May 30 as more than 1 000 residents, students, staff members, and supporters participated in the University of Johannesburg’s annual Steps 2 UJ Future Forward Fun Run.

The run, aimed at raising funds for student tuition fees while promoting healthy lifestyles, attracted participants from across Johannesburg and Gauteng. Runners and walkers choose between 2.5km, 5km, and 10km distances, with the longer route taking participants from the AW Muller Stadium to the Kingsway Campus and back.

The route was filled with energy as families, alumni, community members, and university supporters joined students and staff for the annual event.
