GALLERY: Rain doesn’t deter festive carollers

Despite significant showers, a large crowd of Newcastillians arrived for Newcastle Corner’s Christmas Carols event on Sunday evening, at the mall.

In fact, many seemed defiant of the weather conditions against them.
Residents set themselves up with camping chairs, blankets, warm drinks and other comforts, and joined in enthusiastically when the carolling began.
Leading proceedings was a live band.
Comprised of talented singers and musicians from various church denominations of Newcastle, the band gave guests a hearty performance and great renditions of classic carols.
All the while, candles stayed lit to symbolise the continual flame of a festive spirit.
