Cyclists from across the region are invited to take on the Biggarsberg Cycle Challenge 2026, which will take place on Sunday, September 27, in Dundee.

The all-tar road race offers cyclists a choice of 100km and 45km routes, both starting and finishing at Talana Museum.

The 100km challenge starts at 07:00 and costs R300, while the 45km route starts at 07:15 and costs R100.

The longer route takes riders through some of the area’s scenic mountain terrain, challenging participants to conquer Glencoe Pass, Mpati and Endumeni.

The event caters for a range of age groups, including juniors aged 14 to 19, open riders aged 19 to 39, veterans aged 40 to 49, masters aged 50 to 59, and grand masters aged 60 and older. Men and women are welcome.

Organisers say the event offers riders an opportunity to challenge themselves while enjoying the area’s roads and spectacular scenery.

Open to all

Whether you are an experienced cyclist or simply looking for a new challenge, the race is open to all. All you need is a road-going bicycle, a helmet and the enthusiasm to take part.
