Finding ‘paradise’ with Tanya Visser
In no time the room was filled with laughter and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all

On Saturday, May 9, the Lions Club of Estcourt together with Shepstone Place, hosted Tanya Visser at Linglela Lodge. Thank you Linda and Glen for being so accommodating and allowing us free reign of such a beautiful venue.
From midmorning the excitement of arranging tables started. Each table had a hostess who was responsible for decorating her table. The results were absolutely amazing! The amount of work, thought and effort that each hostess put into the décor transformed the venue into a high tea extravaganza fit for a queen.
With beautiful cups and saucers to funky-faced tomatoes, glamorous centre-pieces to candy filled jars, modern to traditional and last but not least, treasures made with lots of love and extreme talent. From time to time the hustle and bustle was interrupted by a shriek of laughter or a gasp of disbelief! Pride and joy beamed from the faces of each hostess.
Then at 1pm the venue was filled with a ray of sunshine that warmed everyone’s heart. Tanya Visser and her brother, Shaun, arrived. That is when the excitement rose to its highest level as this was JUDGMENT TIME! It was a difficult task for Tanya and Shaun to choose the winners, but after a lot of a discussion and thought, the winners were eventually announced.
The winners for the Hostess Competition were:
Attention to detail – Shepstone Place.
On trend – Mary Stokker.
Technical appeal – Karen Prinsloo.
Most fun – Trish Scott.
Main prize winner of a night for two at Sycamore Treehouses with all meals included was Lee Chase.
Once all the congratulations were made and the gifts presented, everyone prepared themselves to be entertained by Tanya Visser. In no time the room was filled with laughter and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
The Committee of Shepstone Place Home for the Aged and the members of the Lions Club of Estcourt would like to thank Tanya Visser for once again gracing us with her presence, for making everyone feel so at home and treating everyone as a long, lost friend!
