Strong finishes mark Vryheid’s latest parkrun

Vryheid parkrun saw personal bests, newcomers, and strong finishes in a lively weekend event.

The warmer weather last week has encouraged more runners and walkers to get out and train, and the results showed at Saturday’s parkrun. 10 participants achieved personal best times, a clear sign that the extra training is paying off. They are: Tyson, Thubelihle, Lenelle, Ian, Heidi, Freddie, Sthokozo, Suzette, Freddie and Pixie.
The event also welcomed a newcomer, Caitlynne, who completed her very first parkrun.
Nhlanhla Ncube claimed top spot, with Mbuyiseni Ngema taking second place. Bongiwe Zulu was the first lady to cross the finish line.
The organisers congratulated everyone who took part and encouraged the community to join the weekly event. Vryheid parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00, offering runners and walkers a chance to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.
