Nhlanhla Ncube claims 97th win at Vryheid parkrun

Vryheid parkrun celebrates Nhlanhla Ncube’s 97th win, 12 personal bests, and a new participant.

Vryheid parkrun celebrated another milestone on Saturday when top finisher Nhlanhla Ncube crossed the line first for the 97th time. Remarkably, Ncube ran faster than in his first-ever parkrun win back in 2018, proving his consistency and determination over the years.

The warmer weather drew many families and friends to the course, with plenty of runners showing the results of extra training between events. A total of 12 personal best times were recorded. Congratulations to Donovan, Kaylie, Lwazi, Mnotho, Thristan, Zanele, Marti, Suzette, Pricilla, Louis, Keegan and Zander for their strong performances.

A warm welcome was extended to first-timer Landiswa, who joined the Vryheid parkrun family for the first time.
The organisers thanked all the participants and volunteers for making the morning a success, and reminded runners to join in again next weekend for the Spring Day parkrun.
