Parkrun is expanding its milestone system, giving regular runners, walkers and volunteers even more achievements to celebrate.
New milestones up to 1 000
The iconic 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 milestones will remain, but new milestones will now be introduced for every 100 runs, walks, jogs or volunteer credits up to 1 000.
For juniors under 18, the 10 milestone will remain unchanged.
Milestones coming to the app
The new milestones will be added to the parkrun app, participant profiles and results pages over the coming weeks. Organisers are also hoping to receive new milestone flags, allowing participants to capture the occasion with the familiar milestone photographs.
Vryheid parkrun takes weekend break
The announcement comes as Vryheid parkrun takes a weekend break after persistent rain made conditions on the course unsuitable. Organisers said the cancellation was not an easy decision, but confirmed that the weekly event is expected to return this weekend.
For the Vryheid parkrun community, there is therefore another reason to get back out on the course and another milestone to work towards.
