There’s a new face at Pick 'n Pay and the future looks bright for the family owned supermarket.

There’s a new face at Pick ‘n Pay and the future looks bright for the family owned supermarket.

“My uncle has done a great job and I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundation he has laid over the years,” says Bert-Jan Willemse, who has taken over Pick n Pay in Vryheid, following the recent retirement of his uncle, Albert Willemse.

With a head for business, Bert-Jan, a chartered accountant, takes over the reins with confidence and the assured goal in mind of improving the overall customer experience.

Following six years in the financial industry, Bert-Jan moved to Australia in 2010, but returned to the land of his birth and hometown, Newcastle, two years later, where he joined the family business, working at Pick n Pay in Newcastle.

The opportunity has now presented itself for Bert-Jan to further his experience and bring some fresh new ideas to the table at our local Pick n Pay, and he certainly looks set to achieve this aspiration in the not too distant future.

“Customer care is of the utmost importance in our business and we will strive to provide you with the best service and products to make your shopping experience pleasurable and memorable,” he said. “My door is always open to anyone, so please feel free to discuss your shopping experience with me.”
