WATCH: Vryheiders bid ‘broom lady’ farewell

The community at large is saddened at the passing of Vryheid’s ‘broom lady’.

Many residents took to a popular local Facebook page recently, to share their messages of condolences after news of the death of 52-year-old ‘Gogo’ Lianah Dhliwayo, known to many as ‘the lady who sells brooms near Spar’.

They were shocked to find out her friendly face would no longer greet them, asking them if they cared to buy a broom, as they made their way in and out of the local supermarket.
