Burst pipe floods Agra Road
The water was gushing out onto the road and a motor vehicle even got stuck in what residents described as "a swimming pool hole".

Agra Road was a veritable flood plain on Monday morning after a water pipe burst.
The water was gushing out onto the road and a motor vehicle even got stuck in what residents described as “a swimming pool hole”. Councillor Bongani Sibisi and Councillor MJ Ntshaba were at the scene in the morning and were angry about the burst pipe.
“St Chad’s and the surrounding areas do not have any access to water and thousands of litres of water is being wasted here,” fumed Cllr Sibisi.
They were also shocked to find that residents had alerted the municipality to the situation earlier in the morning and the municipality took over an hour to respond, as water continued to waste.
A Public Safety officer was on scene to guide traffic around the burst pipe so as to avoid another car being stuck in the massive hole.
A local resident, as well as the councillors, have said that this is not the first time this pipe has burst. Nor is it the first time that a car has gotten stuck in the hole. The resident explained that he is fed up and doesn’t know why it is always the same place?
“Why can’t the municipality just fix it right? If it was another pipe in a different place, it would be a different story, but to have it happen over and over again is just ridiculous.”
