Henry van Aardt, ‘n Graad 10 leerder, het in die September vakansie aan die SAVOF toer deelgeneem by Bloemhof dam waar hy nasionale kleure vir hengel verwerf het. Nie net het hy 29 visse in 3 dae gevang nie, hy het ook die prys vir die grootste karp gewen. Wel gedaan!
A Grade 11 learner Hardy Keeve participated in the SATCH competition during the holiday and won many awards. The choreographer of ‘Skouspel’ spotted his talent and offered him a dancing position in this national show. Hardy will be performing in ‘Skouspel’ at the end of the month! Well danced! VHS is proud of you!
Girls Cricket Tour: The girls went to Empangeni the weekend. They played against Richards Bay on Friday and lost with one wicket. On Saturday they played against Empangeni and won the game with 20 runs. Nicola Lilje made the most runs (18) against Empangeni. Well done girls!
Boys U/15 Cricket Northern KZN: Congratulations to the following boys who were shortlisted at the trials held at Estcourt High School on the 14th of September – -Lethu Mthetwa, Ivan Niebuhr, Mark Dedekind and Keegan Meier.
The next round of trials will be held on the 18th of October 2013 at Hilton College. Sensible Choice: Life Skill Development Programme: Gr11 learners attend a life skills development program hosted by Ford on Friday 4 October 2013 at Vryheid Airfield. Many learners were very impressed and think they learned more in this day than they usually do elsewhere in a whole term!
Learners were exposed to topics such as: Driving skills, Consequences of drinking and driving, Financial matters, Abuse and Communication.
Die boodskap wat Ford Suid-Afrika aan jongmense wil uitdra is dat verantwoordelike keuses waarde kan toevoeg tot ons eie lewens, maar veral tot ons samelewing. Sodoende kan foute van die verlede reggestel word en kan almal daarby baat.
Bandana Day: Friday, October 11 is Bandana day, please support this worthy cause in aid of children with leukemia. Buy a bandana for R25 from the school or Pick and Pay and Wear it on Friday! Help the round table with this ‘Sunflower’ fund.
