THURSDAY night was a spectacular evening for all those in attendance.
Vryheid Landbou hosted their Best of the Fest poetry and drama event which showcases all of Landbou’s best poetry recitals, drama plays and some of Shakespear’s very best. The evening had a head start with the Inpsiritus choir who were absolute angels and left the entire audience in awe and wonder at their soulful performance.
Next was all the poetry recitals by the students who had received A+ and above on their Speech and Drama both in English and Afrikaans poetry. Finally, the highlight of the evening was our very first Zulu staged play conducted by Miss M. Mbatha and her students. Both funny and enchanting was this play. Nosipho Pehlo (Gr 10) who was the leading lady left a few in tears with her amazing voice. This really was the best of the fest and nothing short of spectacular! We would like to thank Mrs Tasseron, Mrs Ackhurst, Mrs Pieters, Miss Mbatha and Miss Ngubane for organizing this amazing show and we look forward to next year! Lastly, to all the learners that took part; you were and are amazing! Proof that at Landbou we really are growing tall trees.
Sport: Landbou played cricket against Newcastle High School. Landbou won by 8 wickets. Congratulations! Landbou soccer teams played against VHS. The girls won 2-0, the 1st team boys lost 1-3 and the 2nd team boys won 3-0.
Assembly of God: Assembly of God hosted a camp during the past weekend at the Balele Mountain Youth Camp at Utrecht. Various sessions were held on the armour of God. The learners grew spiritually and enjoyed the camp very much.
Ons beste wense vergesel elke landsdiener by Luneburg. Baie geluk!
