The Hamilton grade 4 and 5 classes and a group of enthusiastic adults enjoyed a fun-filled morning of community service supporting cyclists during the recent midweek Berg and Bush Race.
The children were involved in all aspects of support, from applying lube and cleaning goggles to serving snacks and drinks.
The children, who have been learning to play the Marimbas, took turns providing the cycling guests with toe-tapping tunes to cheer up their weary bones. The children came away abuzz with new jargon and encouraged by the positive interactions they had with the cyclists. To crown it all, they were delighted to learn that they had been voted the best water table of the event. All in all, a very positive learning experience!
