Health survey leaves residents fearful
A man is going door to door, claiming to be conducting a survey for health organisations.
Residents believe there’s something fishy about a door-to-door survey conductor doing the rounds in Newcastle.
Multiple reports from Newcastillians tell of a person arriving at homes late at night, claiming to represent health organisations such as the Heart Foundation, for the purposes of gathering information.
One resident said the survey conductor sought information on viruses in the area. He makes his appearance between 9pm and as late as after midnight, and is reported to have asked questions about marital status and the number of people residing at an address. He has been confirmed to have visited homes in Signal Hill, Arbor Park and Schuinshoogte.
For fear of safety, residents who reported the problem chose to remain anonymous. However, one woman said it was suspicious a survey conductor would not approach a hospital for information pertaining to medical happenings.
“There was no notice placed to let people know. It’s very fishy.”
Police sources are expected to comment later today (Monday).
