Friday night was a bad one for motorists… an ambulance was struck by a gold-coloured Golf at the Tatham Street traffic circle. The ambulance was hit on the side of the driver’s door, injuring two paramedics, and another ambulance was dispatched to take them to hospital for treatment.
Mayor Thulani Mahaye was at the scene to express his concern.
The recently-installed traffic lights at the Union/Karellandman Street intersection were again not working after a pole was toppled over by a motorist. It is not clear what the circumstances were.
A vehicle was also reported to have hit a cow on the Wasbank road, but no other details were available.
