Karbochem gives back to local community
In August 2013, Karbochem was approached by Mr V Dlalisa, the Agricultural Sciences teacher at Amazulu High School, requesting a donation for the “School Garden Programme”. In August 2013, Karbochem was approached by Mr V Dlalisa, the Agricultural Sciences teacher at Amazulu High School, requesting a donation for the “School Garden Programme”.
The aim is to develop agribusiness and entrepreneurship skills in their community through integration of Agricultural Practices, Agricultural Sciences, Business Studies and Environmental Studies, and teaching pupils skills for crop production in the school garden, as well as promoting home gardens.
Karbochem donated the following items to the value of R4 000, because the programme will teach the pupils important skills and also help them earn an income from selling vegetables: · Compressor Pump · 1000L JoJo tank · Piping and fittings for the tank · Compost and Fertilizers · Pesticides and 15 vegetable seed packets Mica Hardware (Newcastle), the supplier of the above mentioned items, donated another 40 seed packets and irrigation piping.
