Estcourt Christian Academy would like to extend its congratulations to four learners who attended the All African Student Convention held in Bloemfontein and received nominations to attend the International Student Convention held in Pennsylvannia, USA in May 2014.

This is an outstanding achievement as learners had to compete with students from all across Africa and Scandinavia, as well as perform at a level worthy of an international nomination.

Joshua Nowlan achieved no small feat when he received the Golden Apple Award for memorising the entire Book of Proverbs. Sarah Kühn did exceptionally well as she received a Gold Award for her essay writing, the topic of which was “Courtship: A Biblical Way of Dating” and a Gold Award for table tennis.

Sarah Kühn and Emma Haynes received a Gold Award for their Social Studies Research Project (which included a model and a research paper) based on the Tabernacle of Moses and Nicole Keyter received a Bronze Award for her 3D Clay Sculpture of an Owl, as well as a fourth place in the 200 metre dash.

Well done to all of you for competing at a standard worthy of international recognition, the school knows that your time in America will be a life-changing experience!
