ML Sultan Colenso Primary School once again excelled at the Uthukela District General Education and Training (GET) Excellence Awards by attaining first position as overall performing school in the intermediate phase within the Uthukela district.

The Education Department, GET directorate at Uthukela district once again hosted this event to honour and recognise quality teaching and learning, as well as excellence among educators and learners in the district.

Three learners obtained top honours and were honoured in recognition for their excellent academic performance together with their educators at an elaborate and prestigious awards ceremony held at the Ezakheni FET College on Friday, November 29.

The learners who achieved certificates, medals and trophies with their educators are Mthobisi Khumalo (grade six) first position in Social Sciences and Sindiswa Ngobese (grade six) second position in English home language together with their educator Miss C Latchoo, whilst Lethokuhle Radebe (grade six) was placed second for isiZulu first additional language with her educator Mr GC Mbhele.

A shield and certificate was presented to the Principal Mr SS Bandu for the school’s outstanding performance and achievement in attaining first position overall in the district for the intermediate phase.
