The Governing Body of St Gregory Primary would like to thank its staff for another great year of dedication towards the education of our pupils – not only academically, but culturally, musically and sports wise.

As we end this year and start the next, changes are inevitable, so we say a very sad farewell to three staff members.

Miss Lynette Laatz and Mrs Gail Laatz are both relocating to Durban, we wish them well as they move to the “big city”.

And Mrs Sally Shaw leaves to take up a less demanding position at a local government school so she can spend more time with her family. We thank Sally for her time at the school over the last six years, which saw her almost double learner figures and expand and improve all aspects of the school.

You will be missed and we wish you well with the new challenges you are taking on. We welcome the following staff in 2014: Miss Millar who will be teaching the Grade four class and Miss James who will be the Grade seven teacher.

Our new principal is Alicia Wood who is on maternity leave and is completing her Honours in Educational Management. Cayleen Graves will act as principal for the first three months of the year.

We also welcome Mr Shrichunder as locum teacher for the Grade five and six class.

We also welcome Mrs Michelle Botha as secretary/ bursar who will continue running the administrative side of the school in the businesslike manner that Mrs Laatz has managed it this year.

Rumours that St Gregory Primary is closing down are COMPLETELY FALSE. In fact we have very few places left in the Grade R and Junior Primary.

Please make any applications for 2014 before school ends on December 5 to avoid disappointment.

And a reminder to those parents who have not paid their registration fees to do so soon as to avoid losing your place in the school.

The Governing Body looks forward to an exciting 2014 with new challenges and changes that continue to allow us to grow and excel.
