
Dannhauser Secondary School honoured their top achievers for the year at their annual speech and awards function last week.
From the Grade Rs all the way to the Grade 11s, the school proved that it is providing quality education at all levels.
Acting Principal KG Nair commended the learners for their hard work, saying that hard work breeds success, but that it doesn’t come easy and requires sacrifice.
He also added that the speech and awards ceremony was to honour teachers as well as students.
Chairperson of the SGB, Mr Jiyane, also congratulated the learners and thanked the educators for their sacrifice and hard work. Guest speaker Bongiwe Gumede, a former learner at the school, urged learners to keep their heads up and persevere.
As a former learner, Bongiwe said she understood the challenges that learners face, but assured them that their hard work will indeed pay off.
The school also received awards for its numerous achievements.
Dannhauser Secondary received awards for being a Top Quality School, for producing 38 distinctions and for producing 28 Bachelor’s passes.
They also received an award from the Department of Education for placing second in the Amajuba District in a LO competition.
