Constable Tilo Zaca has done the Mooi River Dog Unit proud. Not only has she shown excellence in her job but also on the sports field.

The young Constable played soccer for a local police tournament and was named Best Defender and Player of the Tournament, for which she received a medal and trophy. She was then selected to play for the Midlands.

At this tournament, Constable Zaca’s team won gold and went on to represent the province in Gauteng. Here again the team was victorious and won a gold medal. The Constable thereafter represented the South African Police Services at an International Women Police Association function where she demonstrated to delegates how dogs are handled and trained in South Africa.

In addition to these awards, Constable Zaca and her partner Constable Bhengu have been making inroads with decreasing crime.

They won the Best Doghandler Team in the Midlands, made 92 arrests, and recovered 47 tons of dagga, 2 000 tablets (mandrax, woonga and rock cocaine), vehicles, firearms and livestock. The total value is R639 632.
