Congratulations to the Dundee High matric class of 2013. You have once again done your school and district proud with the results you achieved, says Principal Rudi Haschke:
“Five Dundee High learners obtained an average over 80%. Our Dux learner Catherine Willis-Smith was second in the Umzinyathi District. She obtained 9 distinctions – the most ever by a Dundee High learner since the implementation of the NCS exams in 2008. Catherine had a 91.4% average and had distinctions for ENGHL, AFRFA, LIFE, MATH, GRMSA, VSLA, PHSC, ECON and MAT3. Buhle Madlala (81.79%) had distinctions for ZULFA, LIFE, ACCN, LFSC and BSTD. She was followed by Aamina Hoosain (80.6%) with distinctions for ENGHL, AFRFA, LIFE, PHSC and LFSC and Fanele Ndebele (80.0%) with distinctions in ENGHL, LIFE, ACCN and BSTD.

“Of the 927 exams that were written, the class of 2013 obtained 126 subject distinctions. This means that 13.6% of all marks obtained were above 80%.
Of the 21 subjects offered at Dundee High 15 had subject averages above 60%. Subjects where more than 10 distinctions were obtained were LIFE, ZULFA, AFRFA, BSTD and VSLA.
“Results such as these once again confirm our school motto “Strenius Ardua Cedunt” – hard work is rewarded. These results could only be achieved by hard work, not only by the learners but also by the dedicated educators of DHS.
“Thank you and congratulations to each learner, each parent, each educator and most of all thank you to our Heavenly Father who once again held his protective hand over our school and blessed our learners with good results. “
