Reesha – number one in the district

MEC for Education, Peggy Nkonyeni and KZN Premier, Senzo Mchunu presented Reesha Mohan with her certificate for finishing as the number one learner in the Umzinyathi district.

Dynamite comes in small packages, and Reesha Mohan is no exception to the rule.
The Sarel Cilliers star finished as the top learner in the Umzinyathi District, ending the year with 8 As and 1 B.
Reesha followed in her sister Jasmin’s footsteps, by finishing top in the district, and while she was confident she would be it was still somewhat of a nerve-wracking experience waiting for it to be confirmed. That confirmation came at a Department of Education function honouring the top performers in the province. Reesha was presented with a certificate as well as a laptop and vouchers by MEC for Education, Peggy Nkonyeni and KZN Premier, Senzo Mchunu. The recognition as the number one student in the district was a result of lots of hard work. During exam times Reesha was cooped up in her room, cramming away for the next paper. When’s she wasn’t studying though, Reesha found time to unwind by watching TV, listening to music or dancing. Looking ahead, Reesha is still contemplating her career choice, with either Medicine or Chemical Engineering to become her next challenge to conquer. Her proud parents know that whatever she chooses, she will continue to excel. “We have been blessed,” said her mother, when speaking of both daughters and their accomplishments. Reesha too is excited about the next step in her life, and while she will miss her parents, she is also eager to become more responsible and independent. She also had advice for the next batch of matriculants this year. “Start early, be consistent, work hard and always listen to your teachers,” she said. Reesha thanked the principal and staff of Sarel Cilliers, as well as her parents and her sister for their support and encouragement throughout the year.
The future is indeed bright for this Sarel Cilliers star student.
