A 2013 Klipriver High School matric pupil is happy to have the opportunity to study further, after initially thinking she wouldn’t be able to afford it.
Nomfundo Mbele successfully passed her final matric exams and was excited by the prospect of studying medicine. However, when she went to a tertiary education institution in Durban to apply to study there, she was turned down because she did not have enough money to pay her registration fees.
With extreme disappointment, she gave up hope of realising her dream of becoming a doctor and making a positive difference in people’s lives. Little did she know that her fortune was about to change and that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
This is because Klipriver High School principal Mr Masinga approached local businessman Mr Hadebe for help in this matter. Without hesitation, Mr Hadebe agreed to pay Nomfundo’s registration fees.
Nomfundo is now ecstatic and is ready to take on the studying challenge that lies ahead of her.
