DJS Buddyz earn diamond status

Mrs C Chivers and S Joubert received the trophy on behalf of the DJS Soul Buddyz.

Jukskei
On Saturday, January 25 DJS went to Richards Bay with nine jukskei players. They played well and behaved themselves. Ruan van Reenen, Snegugu Zwane, Pretty Biyela, Sinethemba Khumalo and Sphelele Hlongwane qualified for the NKZN team. They played on February 1 in Newcastle against SKZN. The school would like to thank Mr Henko van Reenen for his safe driving.
Soul Buddyz
The Soul Buddyz intervention creates a platform whereby young children can learn and develop skills that will facilitate mobilisation around issues that affect children and communities.
Club activities are monitored by Soul City (JHB) and clubs are graded accordingly. In 2013 the Soul Buddyz Club of DJS earned Diamond Status (the highest status) and was awarded a trophy.
Mrs S Joubert, Mrs C Chivers and two Buddyz attended the Provincial Soul Buddyz Congress in Pongola/Magudu from January 23 to 24. The top ten Buddyz Clubs in each of the 12 districts in KZN were invited, and all together 240 Buddyz and 180 adults attended this well-organised and informative congress.
