Monument prefects visited Juana Maria Old Age Home on Friday morning (today) to wish the residents a “Happy Valentine’s Day”. While the ‘oldies’ were waiting for the pupils to arrive, they had tea and waffles with cream.
School principal Mr Birty Rich donated a cheque to the home. The pupils at Monument paid to wear ‘civies’ to school today (Friday) and the money collected was given to the home. “Valentine’s is all about love and we, at Monument Primary School, would like to show the home our love by giving them this cheque which was collected by the kids themselves,” said Mr Rich.
The senior citizens happily listened as the children sang love songs to them. Delicious chocolates were then handed out.
The lovely morning ended with red balloons being released into the air.
