KZN Education says all systems are in place to ensure that the supplementary exams kick off smoothly in the province this morning. The Department’s Muzi Mahlambi says around 21 000 learners are expected to write the tests.

The exams will run until March 25 and the results released on April 15. KwaZulu-Natal’s class of 2013 achieved a 77.4% pass rate. Mahlambi says those writing the exams include candidates who could not sit for the tests due to a death in the family and medical reasons, among other things.

“We are very hopeful that everything is going to go smoothly and that after getting the results, we are going to improve, in terms of the percentage as the province,” he said.
