On Thursday, February 6, Estcourt High School awarded outstanding achievements from the previous year (2013). These achievements included Merit Certificates, Colours and Honours.
The school also awarded the learners that got first position in Grades eight to 11. The learner in Grade eight was Londeka Mbatha, in Grade nine Savannalea Hodgkinson, in Grade ten Zama Ndima and in Grade 11 Mishaal Jagdew. Zama Ndima was also awarded Colours. Mishaal Jagdew has been getting the award for first position since his Grade eight year.
In addition to that, Mishaal was awarded honours. The Dux Award for 2013 was awarded to Noluthando Mngomezulu who took most of the subject awards. Noluthando received five A’s and two B’s in her final matric examination. When we asked Noluthando how she managed to get these excellent results, she said “hard work, a sense of responsibility, perseverance and dedication are the ingredients for success”.
Estcourt High School would like to thank the Principal of Drakensberg Secondary School, Mr Sewlal, our Guest Speaker, corporate sponsors and Lions Club and Rotary Club, and our parents for making this event a success.
