Clare Botha, Treverton’s Head of Dramatic Art and the producer of the annual drama production at the school has announced the College’s annual production, which will take place in May this year.
The play is called “Chaos at the Cannery” and can be described as “a good old fashioned melodrama,” set in the Wild West.
The characters include a villain, a hero and heroine and several interesting and diverse characters with names such as Faye Tality and Sue Fley. This play is an example of the range of productions that both actors and audience are exposed to at the school.
In the past musicals and a Shakespeare play have also been performed. This year the play will be part of the school’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. The theatre, which forms the centrepiece of the College’s Alan Staples Centre is also host throughout the year to a number of musical and dramatic events from visiting choirs and touring companies and all events can be accessed through Facebook on the Treverton Theatre page.
