Introducing learners to the fun of running at a young age is an exciting way to help them develop healthy habits that they will stick with for life.
This is the fifth year that N3 Toll Concession (Pty) Ltd, together with Ladysmith Athletic Club and the N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust, have co-ordinated a fun run for Uxolo Nokuzwana Secondary School and Weleni Primary School.
It turned out to be a fantastic occasion. This year, they also invited Remington Primary School. A total of 600 learners participated. There is also a fun walk for elderly community members on the same day, with prizes sponsored by N3 Toll Concession (Pty) Ltd. It’s all about healthy fun.
N3 Toll Concession (Pty) Ltd sponsors all the prizes for the event. Sharaj Ambulance Services sponsors a water table and the medical standby. BMW SA Staff sponsor the water and food table. The winners of each category, from Grade R to Grade 12 (boys and girls), go on to participate in the Khanyisile fun run in Ladysmith on April 11 this year.
N3 Toll Concession (Pty) Ltd provide these 24 learners with their own running gear – a bright orange shirt, navy shorts and takkies. This has also resulted in a group of older boys and girls from the schools being coached by Ladysmith Amateur Athletic Club members to participate in formal road running events in KwaZulu-Natal.
Special thanks to N3 Toll Concession (Pty) Ltd and Ladysmith Athletic Club for creating this opportunity for the learners.
