Sarel Cilliers High School hosted the preliminary round of the Rotary Public Speaking Competition on Thursday, March 6. Dundee High School, Inkamane High School and Sarel Cilliers entered two teams each.
The rules of the competition required each team to put forward a problem pertinent to the youth of today, discuss the problem and then come up with practical and viable solutions.
The topics were wide and varied, including cyber-bullying, steroids, the use of illicit substances and the influence of the media on the youth of today. It was an informative and entertaining evening, greatly enjoyed by all.
