Street justice was meted out to a man who was allegedly caught stealing from a neighbour in Ntabamhlophe on Wednesday night.
A resident told the Estcourt News that community members assaulted the man, as they believed he was a repeat offender.
“It was not the first time this happened as he was caught two weeks ago and arrested. It seems as if this is his habit,” said the resident.
She described the man as a ‘threat to the community” explaining that nobody knew his parents or where he lived.
“We are not even sure what happened when he got arrested because he was back the next day,” concluded the resident.
