A young local athlete from Steadville did really well at the Provincial Primary Schools Athletics Meeting which was held at Kings Park, Durban, on March 7 and 8. 10-year-old Mfezeko Raymond from Nikela Primary School in Steadville represented Uthukela District in the 80m and 100m races and won gold in both events.
He left for the Western Cape on Wednesday, March 19, to represent the province nationally. Mrs Zikalala, Miss Khoza and Mrs Sishi from Nikela Primary were among the well-wishers at Kings Park, and they were delighted with his results.
School principal Miss Zwane recently announced the results at school after morning prayer. The happy staff and pupils sang songs of joy to celebrate Mfezeko’s success.
