Doing well in winter sports

This weekend we participated in the Eshowe Winter Sport Festival and most teams did very well.

The 1st Rugby, Hockey and Netball teams participated.

Rugby: The rugby boys won their three round-robin matches and progressed to the finals. In the finals they beat Vryheid Landbou by 8 points to 0. Congratulations to our rugby boys.

Hockey boys: The hockey boys won six of their round-robin matches and drew two. In the final they beat Felixton College 1 – 0. Well played boys! Hockey girls: The hockey girls played well during the tournament. They just lost their game to qualify to play in the finals. Congratulations to our hockey girls.

Netball: The girls lost only one of their round-robin matches. In the final they narrowly lost to Eshowe. Congratulations to our netball girls.

To all of our learners who took part in the above tournament, thank you and well played: We are proud of you! Even some of the educators at Vryheid High School still play sport and participate provincially.

Mr Soon Moolman played for KZN Country Districts in East London last week from March 10 – 14.

They came 6th out of 20 teams and missed a bronze medal by only two points. Bowls is played by a very competent Mr Moolman – Well played! Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.

NCS 2013 remark: The results of the NCS 2013 remarks are available at the school. Of the 34 candidates, 84 subjects were remarked. In 17 subjects, learners received a higher symbol. Congratulations to Martin Niebuhr who also has eight A’s after the remarking.
