Treverton Prep’s Grade seven class ended their first term on a high, when they went on their Zululand trip, which is part of their prescribed syllabus.
The trip is an amazing highlight for the children, as it provides them with in situ experience of what they also receive as theoretical instruction. They cover aspects of ecology and Zulu culture and history and also sample traditional cuisine. Once they return to the classroom they are expected to turn the notes and the photographs they took into projects set by their teachers.
The class expended curiosity, energy and enthusiasm during the trip and returned exhausted but much wiser than when they set out. This was the first time that the Grade seven Zululand trip took place in the first term.
