DA lays charge after poster damage
The Democratic Alliance have found that some of their election posters were taken down unlawfully.

A charge of malicious damage to property has been laid at the Glencoe Police Station after DA election posters were destroyed on Biggar Street on Saturday morning.
DA Councillor Sandy Bedassi said the broken boards were ripped down from poles between the Glencoe Post Office and Town Hall.
“It would seem as if some parties are feeling very threatened by the DA, which is a formidable opponent in the forthcoming elections,” he said.
Dr Bedassi told the Courier that according to the Electoral Code of Conduct, “No person may deface or unlawfully remove or destroy the billboards, placards, posters or any other election material of a party. Any person/s found destroying such material is liable to a fine or five years’ imprisonment.
